At PKM Steel Service, Inc. we believe in ensuring the safety and health of our employees. An established focus on safety is at the forefront of our daily business practice.
PKM Steel Service, Inc. has procedures and policies in place that offer a safe working environment for our employees. We take pride in our safety programs, policies, plans, procedures, practices, and safety goals. We have daily safety inspections for workplace hazards and perform safety program audits on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. We have safety tracking, metrics, hazard identification and controls in place. We provide weekly safety education and continuous training to maintain a high level of awareness on safety. “Our first duty and highest obligation is employee safety.”
All employees from their first day on the job have “Stop work authority”. This means if at any time our employees do not feel safe in the performance of his/her duties, they can call a stop to the work they are performing so a discussion between management and the employee can happen. Once an effective safe solution to the problem has been reached then and only then work may continue.
PKM Steel Service is OSHA compliant. PKM maximizes job site safety through configuration, trailer loading techniques and erector-friendly erection aids. By working directly with general contractors and erectors, PKM facilitates safety in raising and connecting steel.
